Suits. Компактна, чистоплотна, почти без запаха. Самостоятельна.
Be aware. Сбегает и не подходит по команде — отпускать без поводка опасно. Плохо уживается с мелкими животными.
Temperament
Маленькая японская собака с большим самомнением. Сиба чистоплотна почти по-кошачьи, независима, не склонна к подчинению. Привязана к семье, но нежностей не любит. Знаменита громким протестующим криком, когда её принуждают. Побегушка: спущенная с поводка сиба уходит по своим делам.
Care
Двойная шерсть, линяет обильно дважды в год. Ухода немного: вычёсывать раз-два в неделю. Обязателен поводок и надёжный забор. Наследственно значимы вывих коленной чашечки и аллергии.
Origin
Древнейшая японская порода, охотилась на мелкую дичь в горах. Едва не исчезла после Второй мировой войны, восстановлена из трёх сохранившихся линий.

- Mid-run the dog suddenly holds up a hind leg for a couple of strides, then carries on as if nothing happened. It looks harmless but wears the joint down over time. Excess weight doubles the pace of it.

- Itching without fleas: paws, belly, ears. The dog licks its paws rusty-brown, shakes its head, the ears keep flaring up. Food usually gets the blame while the cause is pollen, dust mites or mould. This is one for a dermatologist, not for changing food at random.
