Suits. Дома тихая и спокойная, почти не лает, эффектна.
Be aware. Догоняет всё бегущее и не слышит команд. Нужен огороженный простор. Наркоз требует особого расчёта.
Temperament
Аристократичная, спокойная и молчаливая дома собака. Русская псовая борзая ненавязчива, к чужим равнодушна, конфликтов избегает. На улице — полностью во власти охотничьего инстинкта: увидев зверя, уходит и не слышит. Грубости не переносит.
Care
Длинная шелковистая шерсть, вычёсывать через день, за ушами и на очёсах сваливается. Нужен свободный бег на закрытой территории. Мёрзнет меньше короткошёрстных борзых, но подкожного жира почти нет. Чувствительна к наркозу — предупреждать врача. Наследственно значим заворот желудка.
Origin
Русская порода для псовой охоты на волка и зайца, известна с XVII века. После революции сохранилась во многом благодаря вывезенным за границу собакам.

- A lethal emergency in deep-chested breeds: a swollen hard belly, retching that brings nothing up, restlessness, drooling. This is the emergency vet right now, with no “let us wait until morning”. Prevention: feed twice a day in smaller portions and no running straight after a meal.
