Temperament
Малинуа — рабочая собака в чистом виде, и это не комплимент, а предупреждение. Скорость реакции, выносливость и потребность в деле у неё выше, чем у немецкой овчарки. Для службы, спорта и человека, готового заниматься каждый день, порода выдающаяся. Для спокойной семьи — источник постоянных проблем: невыгруженный малинуа не отдыхает, он ищет, чем себя занять, и находит.
Care
Шерсть короткая, вычёсывать раз в неделю. Нагрузка — минимум два часа в день, и это не прогулка шагом, а бег и работа: послушание, поиск, аджилити. Плохо переносит одиночество и безделье. Порода в целом здоровая, из наследственного значимы дисплазия и катаракта.

Короткошёрстная разновидность бельгийской овчарки из окрестностей Мехелена. Сегодня основная порода полиции и армии во многих странах, потеснившая немецкую овчарку.
What to watch in this breed

- Keep in mindHip dysplasia
- The puppy sits to one side, struggles to get up after sleeping, runs with a “bunny hop” using both hind legs together. What is in your hands: no excess weight and no jumping down from height while it grows. The puppy’s parents are screened by X-ray — ask the breeder.
- OccursIdiopathic epilepsy
- Seizures with no outside cause, usually between six months and five years. During a seizure do not reach into the mouth — that is how people break their own and the animal’s teeth. Time it: a seizure longer than five minutes is an emergency. Film it, that matters more to the vet than your description.
