Suits. Мощный, дружелюбный, создан тянуть груз. Хорош для активного владельца.
Be aware. Ещё больше шерсти, чем у хаски. Жара тяжела. Копает и воет, если скучно.
Temperament
Крупная, сильная и очень самостоятельная упряжная собака. Маламут дружелюбен к людям и совершенно не сторож. К другим собакам, особенно однополым, часто нетерпим. Послушание даётся тяжело: порода выведена тянуть груз и решать самой. Роет, воет, разговаривает.
Care
Очень густая двойная шерсть, линька дважды в год обильнейшая — вычёсывать ежедневно в этот период. Стричь нельзя. Жару переносит плохо. Нужны серьёзные нагрузки и высокий забор с защитой от подкопа. Наследственно значимы дисплазия, катаракта и полинейропатия.
Origin
Аборигенная порода эскимосов-малемутов Аляски: возила тяжёлые грузы на дальние расстояния. В отличие от хаски отбиралась на силу, а не на скорость.

- In a Kazakh summer this is the breed’s main risk. Walk early morning and late evening, always carry water, never leave the animal in a car. Signs of overheating: rapid panting with the tongue out, drooling, an unsteady gait. Heatstroke kills in minutes, not hours.
- Keep in mindHip dysplasia
- The puppy sits to one side, struggles to get up after sleeping, runs with a “bunny hop” using both hind legs together. What is in your hands: no excess weight and no jumping down from height while it grows. The puppy’s parents are screened by X-ray — ask the breeder.
