Suits. Спокоен, малоподвижен, не требует долгих прогулок.
Be aware. Самая тяжёлая брахицефалия: дыхание, жара, наркоз — всё риск. Роды почти всегда кесаревым. Живёт мало.
Temperament
Спокойный, флегматичный и добродушный компаньон. Английский бульдог не требует нагрузок, ленив, с детьми терпелив. Упрям чрезвычайно: понимает команду и решает, стоит ли. Храпит, пускает слюни.
Care
Порода требует ухода больше, чем кажется. Складки на морде и хвосте протирать и просушивать ежедневно. Главное — дыхание: укороченная морда означает, что бульдог не может охлаждаться, и в жару рискует погибнуть за минуты. Гулять только рано утром и поздно вечером, в машине не оставлять никогда, физические нагрузки исключить. Плавать не умеет — тонет. Наследственно значимы дисплазия, проблемы с глазами и родоразрешением: щенки почти всегда рождаются кесаревым.
Origin
Английская порода, выведенная для травли быков. После запрета травли в 1835 году порода была переориентирована на компаньона и сильно изменилась внешне.
What to watch in this breed

- Snoring, noisy breathing at rest, a bluish tongue, fainting on exercise. This is not “just the breed” and not a cute quirk: the dog is short of air. Excess weight makes breathing worse than anything else, and heat and stuffiness are directly dangerous.

- In a Kazakh summer this is the breed’s main risk. Walk early morning and late evening, always carry water, never leave the animal in a car. Signs of overheating: rapid panting with the tongue out, drooling, an unsteady gait. Heatstroke kills in minutes, not hours.
- Watch firstSkin fold dermatitis
- The folds of the face and tail stay damp and get infected: redness, a bad smell, the animal rubbing its face. Prevention is wiping the folds dry regularly, not shampooing them every day.
- Keep in mindEntropion
- The eyelid rolls inward and the lashes scratch the cornea. Constant watering, a squinting eye, the animal rubbing its face with a paw. It is fixed by surgery; leaving it means a corneal ulcer.
- Keep in mindHip dysplasia
- The puppy sits to one side, struggles to get up after sleeping, runs with a “bunny hop” using both hind legs together. What is in your hands: no excess weight and no jumping down from height while it grows. The puppy’s parents are screened by X-ray — ask the breeder.
