Temperament
Очень активная, любопытная и общительная кошка — по сути длинношёрстная абиссинка. Сомалийская не сидит на месте, лазает, открывает дверцы, требует общения. Плохо переносит скуку и одиночество.
Care
Полудлинная шерсть без плотного подшёрстка сваливается мало: вычёсывать два-три раза в неделю. Нужны высота и игры. Наследственно значимы прогрессирующая атрофия сетчатки, дефицит пируваткиназы (есть тест) и болезни дёсен — зубы требуют внимания с молодости.
Origin
Длинношёрстная разновидность абиссинской кошки, признана отдельной породой в 1970-е. Ген длинной шерсти был в абиссинской популяции изначально.

- Sight goes gradually, starting at dusk. The animal bumps into furniture in dim light, refuses a dark stairwell, its eyes shine more in the dark. There is no cure, but a blind animal lives a full life as long as you do not move the furniture.
