Suits. Крепкая, выносливая, хорошо переносит холод. Спокойный характер.
Be aware. Обильная линька дважды в год. Крупный размер — нужен большой лоток и место.
Temperament
Крупная, спокойная и самостоятельная кошка. Сибирская привязана к семье, но не навязчива, охотно проводит время сама. Отличный охотник, любит высоту. С детьми и собаками уживается. Голос негромкий.
Care
Плотная тройная шерсть с водоотталкивающим остевым волосом: вычёсывать два-три раза в неделю, в линьку ежедневно. Порода в целом здоровая и выносливая — отбор шёл естественный. Наследственно значима гипертрофическая кардиомиопатия. Существует мнение, что сибирские кошки реже вызывают аллергию из-за меньшего количества белка Fel d 1, но это верно не для каждого животного и проверяется только на практике.
Origin
Аборигенная порода России, сформировалась естественным отбором в холодном климате. Официально признана в конце XX века.

- The commonest heart disease in cats and the main cause of sudden death. It gives no signs for a long time; the first may be fast breathing at rest or the hind legs suddenly giving out. In this breed heart scans are done on schedule — ask your vet from what age.
