Temperament
Очень разговорчивая, деятельная и требовательная кошка. Ориентал не переносит одиночества и скуки, ходит за хозяином, комментирует всё вслух и громко. Умна, легко учится открывать двери. Порода для тех, кто хочет постоянного общения, а не тихого соседа.
Care
Короткая шерсть без подшёрстка, уход простой. Мёрзнет, любит тёплые места и общество. Нужны высота, игрушки и внимание: без этого кошка становится шумной и разрушительной. Наследственно значимы амилоидоз печени и болезни зубов — осмотр полости рта с молодости.
Origin
Выведена в Англии на основе сиамской: тот же тип, но сплошные окрасы вместо колор-пойнта и зелёные глаза вместо голубых.

- Coughing fits where the cat stretches its neck and crouches as if bringing up a hairball, but nothing comes. It is often mistaken for hairballs for years. Dust, smoke and strongly scented litter set it off.

- In small breeds the teeth are crowded, tartar builds early, and teeth are lost by five years old. Look at the gums: redness at the tooth line and bad breath already call for a scale. Brush at home; dry food does not clean teeth, contrary to popular belief.
