Suits. Короткие лапы не мешают активности, характер игривый и дружелюбный.
Be aware. Коротконогость — наследуемая особенность скелета: возможны проблемы с позвоночником. Прыжки с высоты ограничивайте.
Temperament
Общительная, деятельная и совершенно не считающая себя маленькой кошка. Манчкин любопытен, охотно играет, ладит с детьми и другими животными. Прыгает хуже обычной кошки, но лазает уверенно.
Care
Уход зависит от длины шерсти. Прыжки на высоту даются тяжело — нужны ступеньки к любимым местам. О главном честно: короткие лапы — следствие мутации, и порода не признана рядом фелинологических федераций именно из-за споров о её влиянии на здоровье. У части животных встречаются лордоз и деформация грудной клетки, у котёнка стоит убедиться в свободе движений.
Origin
Порода началась в США в 1983 году с коротколапой кошки Блэкберри. Название — от народца из «Волшебника страны Оз».
