Be aware. Очень энергична и громка. Нужны высокие полки и игрушки. Скучающая бенгалка разносит квартиру.
Temperament
Кошка с внешностью дикого зверя и характером неутомимого исследователя. Бенгал очень активен, лазает везде, многие любят воду и играют с ней. Привязан к хозяину, требует общения и занятий. Для тихого дома не подходит: скучающий бенгал шумит и разбирает вещи.
Care
Короткая плотная шерсть, ухода мало. Главное — движение: нужны высокие комплексы, игрушки и внимание, иначе энергия уходит в разрушение. Кормление белковое. Наследственно значимы гипертрофическая кардиомиопатия и прогрессирующая атрофия сетчатки; у племенных животных должны быть проверки.
Origin
Порода получена в США скрещиванием домашней кошки с дальневосточным леопардовым котом. Первые поколения гибридов домашними не считаются; к домашним относят животных начиная с четвёртого поколения.
What to watch in this breed

- Keep in mindHypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- The commonest heart disease in cats and the main cause of sudden death. It gives no signs for a long time; the first may be fast breathing at rest or the hind legs suddenly giving out. In this breed heart scans are done on schedule — ask your vet from what age.
- OccursProgressive retinal atrophy
- Sight goes gradually, starting at dusk. The animal bumps into furniture in dim light, refuses a dark stairwell, its eyes shine more in the dark. There is no cure, but a blind animal lives a full life as long as you do not move the furniture.
